Table 2 shows a simulation of total biological activity for mixtures of n compounds having differing combinations of active compounds. Pool 1 contains only 1 nM level inhibitor with the remaining less than 10 uM. Pool 2 contains all moderate active inhibitors (140 uM) and Pool 3 contains 10% active (14 nM) and 90% inactive (> 10 uM). From this table, mixtures containing more than ten compounds become difficult to differentiate. For this reason we have limited our design to a three parameter factorial set resulting in pools of nine compounds each.
