Reaction of the adduct 11 with sodium alkoxides

The fluorine atoms of 11 were easily replased by alkoxy groups to afford the corresponding diester (14) in high yields (73 and 80%) on treating with excess amounts of sodium methoxide or ethoxide for 24 h at room temp. The reaction with potassium tert-butoxide, however, resulted in recovery of the compound 11.
