Recently we have developed new reagents for one-pot annelations of pyrimidine moieties to ortho-amino-(hetero)aromatic
esters and nitriles [1,2]; examples for these so-called BMMA
(Bis-methylthiomethyleneamino)-reagents are depicted below:
