The reaction chemistry of Ru(CO)4(C2H4) has been investigated both previously by co-workers and here in the present studies.
Addition of bidentate phosphines such as 1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)propane to a solution of Ru(CO)4(C2H4) leads to the [eta]1-coordinated mononuclear complex Ru(CO)4{[eta]1-Ph2P(CH2)2PPh2}.
