With allylic and homoallylic acetals, the usual bases (Et₃N or NaHCO₃/BnEt₃NCl, under PTC conditions) did not give amination products [Fioravanti, S.; Loreto, M. A.; Pellacani, L.; Tardella, P. A. Tetrahedron Lett. 1993, 34, 3453]. We found useful inorganic solid bases, such as CaO or K₂CO₃, mainly [Barani, M.; Fioravanti, S.; Loreto, M. A.; Pellacani, L.; Tardella, P. A. Tetrahedron 1994, 50, 3829] and we obtained the expected aziridines, in fair yields.
