Least Squares Curve Fitting
A program is available on the Macintosh systems for least squares fitting of numerical
data to a functional form. Invoke the following sequence of actions:
Enter your data in "spreadsheet format"
First you have to plot the data. You must indicate which column of
data is to be plotted on the x or the y axis;
Once plotted, a least squares analysis can be carried out;
You have a variety of functional forms "built-in" to the the
program. You can also define your own form, which can be
"non-linear" if desired.
Click on "Fit", when the coefficients of the functional form are displayed,
along with the standard deviations.
