Tamoxifen: The side effects.
As discussed earlier although Tamoxifen treatment was not considered as indiscrimenant as chemotherapy to say that it is without adverse side effects would be rather rash.
As with most drugs there are both pros and cons associated with it's prescription. In the case of Tamoxifen it is very difficult to give an accurate account. This is due to the fact that it has only been widely described for about 20 years.Hence the long term side effects have not been well investigated. It has been reported that laboratory rats when subjected to long term exposure to tamoxifen have in most cases developed serious liver cancer. However there has been no such evidence discovered to suggest that this is also observed in human cases.
As with most issues which are close to the hearts of many people there are many wide and varied accounts of this treatment which are then either fiercely supported or denied. Some of the most common side effects are mentioned below this list is by no means comprehensive and the effect of this drug can vary from patient to patient.
