Readme: This has been roughly converted into html from a doc file - hence it's readable but the code is rather nasty. No apologies about that, blame Word [chuckle]. In addition, some of the pictures are in a bad way (I'm intending to fix that) and they've all lost their captions for no apparent reason (probably won't). Again, blame Word - (yes I know I shouldn't use it but I can't be bothered to convert all this by hand - its huge!)
